HireVue
Source check date: 20 August 2026. HireVue is a cloud-based hiring platform centred on structured interviewing, skills assessment, candidate engagement, and recruiting workflow automation. Its interview offering includes both live video conversations and on-demand video interviews: candidates answer predefined questions at a convenient time or join a real-time meeting, while hiring teams review, score, and share the results. HireVue describes the product as an end-to-end platform for global enterprises. Source: HireVue Video Interviewing; Source: HireVue Privacy Notice.
What the platform does
HireVue is broader than a recorded-video interview tool. The vendor combines interview workflows, assessments, candidate communication, and automation in one platform. That makes it a good choice for employers that need to standardise early-stage evaluation, review many applications asynchronously, and return hiring data to an existing applicant tracking system. The feature descriptions below are vendor statements checked on the stated date. Source: HireVue Platform.
- Live and on-demand interviews: Teams can conduct real-time video interviews or let candidates record answers to a configured set of questions. Recordings can be reviewed, rated, and shared within the hiring workflow. Source: HireVue, checked 20 August 2026.
- Structured interview content: HireVue lists role-specific interview guides, shared scorecards, and standard rating scales. These tools are intended to make questions and evaluation criteria more consistent across interviewers. Source: HireVue, checked 20 August 2026.
- Skills assessments: The public platform page lists technical, game-based, language, and virtual-job-tryout assessments. Buyers should confirm which assessment products are included in their exact package. Source: HireVue Platform, checked 20 August 2026.
- Scheduling and engagement: HireVue describes automated interview coordination, conversational AI, and around-the-clock candidate support. This can reduce manual coordination where an employer manages multiple interview stages. Source: HireVue Platform, checked 20 August 2026.
- AI Interviewer: For its AI Interviewer product, HireVue describes two-way voice conversations, candidate consent before AI-assisted recording and scoring, configurable scoring rubrics, and an audit trail. These are vendor claims; they should be tested against the buyer’s intended configuration and governance requirements. Source: HireVue AI Interviewer, checked 20 August 2026.
- ATS integrations: HireVue lists integration partners including Workday, SAP, Oracle, and SmartRecruiters. Integration depth, data flow, and retention behaviour should be validated in a proof of concept. Source: HireVue Platform, checked 20 August 2026.
Who should consider HireVue
HireVue is positioned for larger employers rather than a lightweight interview point solution. G2 lists an Essentials package starting at US$35,000 and recommends it for organisations with 2,500 to 7,500 employees; its Enterprise edition is listed as quote-based for organisations with more than 7,500 employees. This positioning makes HireVue particularly relevant to central talent-acquisition teams coordinating high-volume hiring, multiple locations, standardised interview processes, or an established ATS landscape. HireVue is a good fit when consistency across hiring managers matters as much as speed: for example, when a team needs shared interview guides, asynchronous first-round interviews, and documented evaluation processes across many requisitions. It is less naturally suited to a small team that only needs occasional video meetings, because the commercial scope and implementation work may exceed that narrower need.
Pricing
HireVue’s own pricing page presents packages and a sales-led demo path, but does not display a public price table. G2, which states that its pricing information is supplied by HireVue or publicly available materials, lists Essentials from US$35,000 and Enterprise by quote. The quote should therefore specify products, implementation services, contract term, storage, usage limits, and any assessment or AI modules. Pricing may change. What users report
Public G2 reviews commonly mention flexible candidate scheduling, recorded responses, and time savings in high-volume workflows as strengths. Some individual reviewers say that one-way, on-demand interviews can feel impersonal for candidates. Other visible reviews mention occasional browser or call issues and limitations when administrators need to build more complex back-to-back scheduling. These are individual user experiences, not independent performance testing. Source: G2 Reviews, checked 20 August 2026.
DACH, EU, and data-protection perspective
G2 lists German among the languages supported for HireVue, while HireVue’s pricing page states that customer support is available in more than 20 languages. Neither point proves that every interview, scoring, administration, and support workflow is fully localised for German-speaking users. Buyers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland should test the candidate flow, admin language, accessibility, translations, and support process in their own pilot. No DACH-specific market focus was identified in the sources reviewed. Source: G2 Product Profile; Source: HireVue Pricing, checked 20 August 2026.
HireVue states that it meets SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standards and is GDPR compliant. Its public Data Processing Addendum identifies HireVue as processor, includes support for customer data-protection impact assessments, and provides for standard contractual clauses. The same document expressly says that European-area personal data may be processed or transferred to the United States and other third countries. No verifiable commitment to a particular EU hosting location was found in the reviewed sources. Questions to ask during evaluation
- Which interviewing, assessment, automation, and AI products are included in the quote, and what storage or volume limits apply?
- How will the integration work with our ATS in both directions, including permissions, exports, retention, and deletion?
- Where will interview recordings and candidate data be processed, which subprocessors are involved, and what transfer safeguards apply?
- If AI scoring is enabled, what data, criteria, and weightings are used; how are candidates informed; and what human review remains in the decision process?
- What does the actual German-language candidate and administrator experience look like, and how are technical support, accessibility, and alternative interview paths handled?
Bottom line: HireVue is a credible option for larger organisations seeking to run structured interviews and assessments inside a scalable recruiting workflow. DACH and EU buyers should make data processing, language coverage, selected AI functions, and package scope explicit acceptance criteria before signing.
