The best AI job search tool in 2026 depends on whether you want to find jobs, tailor documents or track applications, and on what stays free. Atlas Career is the only one in this comparison that is free without any cap: it searches 1.5M+ active jobs straight from employers' career sites, scores each role with reasons and writes a tailored CV for every application, and you apply yourself. Jobright, Simplify and Teal are strong on the US market but limit or sell their AI features; LoopCV and JobCopilot apply on your behalf, which brings risk.
This guide is about finding jobs. If you only need help writing the application itself, read our guides on the best AI tools for job applications and on applying to jobs in Europe. Prices and limits below are as of October 2026 and change often. We name where each number comes from, because vendors rarely say it plainly.
Comparison table: what is really free, and where is the limit?
Almost every tool calls itself free. The useful question is what happens after the first few tailored CVs. When we asked ChatGPT on 29 October 2026 (logged out, web search on) for the best free AI job agent that tailors a resume, it answered that "unlimited AI resume tailoring is often behind a paywall". The table shows where that is true.
| Tool | What is really free | Paid price | Limit on the free plan | Who applies? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atlas Career | Everything: search, match score, tailored CV + cover letter | none needed | None | You | DACH and beyond, no cap |
| Jobright | Job matches, tracking, basic resume help | Turbo, about 39.99 $/month (reviews, no public price page) | 2 resume + 2 cover letter credits per day (reviews) | You (auto-apply agent in Turbo) | US market |
| Simplify | Autofill, job tracker | Simplify+, about 39.99 $/month (reviews) | AI tailoring and cover letters not included | You; Autopilot beta in Simplify+ | Autofill |
| Teal | Unlimited resumes, job tracking | Teal+, about 29 $/month (reviews) | About 10 bullet, 2 summary, 2 cover letter credits (reviews) | You | Tracking |
| Huntr | Track 100 jobs, unlimited base resumes | 40 $/month, 26.66 $ on six months (vendor) | 2 tailored resumes, 2 application packets | You | Tracking + documents |
| LoopCV | Free plan, no card | from 9.99 €/month (vendor) | Set number of matching jobs per day | The tool | Mass applying |
| JobCopilot | No free plan listed | from 0.93 $/day (vendor) | 20 matches/day (Premium), 50 (Elite) | The tool | Mass applying |

1. Atlas Career: free, no limits, built for DACH and beyond
Atlas (from Sprad, Vienna; formerly Atlas Apply) starts with a short voice conversation, the "Atlas Brief": role, level, salary, location, no-gos. Then it keeps searching, mails new matches and shows a match score from 0 to 100 with the reasons. Culture fit is only claimed where the job ad itself says something about it.
For each role it writes a tailored CV and, on request, a cover letter. It does not invent facts; it phrases your real experience more strongly. You download the PDF and apply directly with the employer. Atlas sends nothing for you, and each application is tracked. Hosting is in the EU, data is not sold and not used to train third-party models. More than 100,000 of the 1.5M+ jobs are in the DACH region, and there are industry job pages for healthcare, trades, sales and tech.
Honest limits: Atlas is a young web product with few independent reviews yet, and it has no native app. If you want a tool that fills in application forms inside the browser, look at Simplify below.
2. Jobright: strongest US coverage and daily matches
Jobright is built around a daily feed of matched jobs, an "AI Agent", resume tailoring, autofill and suggested insider connections. Its homepage claims 3 million users. For the US market, this is the most complete free-to-start option in the list. The catch is the cap: independent reviews describe two resume and two cover letter credits per day on the free plan and unlimited use only on the paid Turbo plan. Jobright's pricing URL returned a 404 when we checked, so treat any price you read elsewhere as unconfirmed until checkout.
3. Simplify: best autofill, AI behind Simplify+
Simplify's browser Copilot fills application forms, and the job tracker is free. Its homepage promises daily job matches and says it "applies for you". AI resume tailoring, AI cover letters and AI answers sit behind Simplify+; reviews quote 39.99 $ per month, 19.99 $ per week or 89.99 $ for three months, without a free trial. Autopilot, which submits applications without a review step, is a Simplify+ beta according to Simplify's help centre. Good if you want control and mostly US jobs.
4. Teal: the best organiser, AI is capped
Teal's homepage says sign-up is "100% free" and promises unlimited customised resumes. In practice, reviews report that the free plan has unlimited resumes and job tracking but a small number of AI credits (about 10 for bullet points, 2 each for summaries and cover letters) and a hidden match score. Teal+ removes the caps; reviews agree on 29 $ per month, the weekly price is reported as 9 $ or 13 $. Teal does not find jobs for you: it helps you organise a search you run elsewhere.
5. Huntr: clear free limits, Pro is expensive
Huntr is transparent: the free plan tracks up to 100 jobs, includes unlimited base resumes but only 2 job-tailored resumes and 2 application packets, plus a small number of AI credits. Pro costs 40 $ per month, 30 $ per month on a quarterly plan (90 $) and 26.66 $ per month on a six-month plan (160 $) according to Huntr's pricing page. It is a tracker and document tool, not a job finder.
6. LoopCV: auto-apply with a free tier
LoopCV's German homepage says it applies "en masse" every day in your name. The free plan costs nothing and needs no credit card but caps the matching jobs per day; paid plans start at 9.99 € per month, and the page gives no exact application numbers. Our guide to auto-apply: hype versus reality explains why volume is rarely the problem to solve.
7. JobCopilot: auto-apply by the day, no free plan listed
JobCopilot's pricing page lists Premium from 0.93 $ per day (1 copilot, up to 20 job matches daily) and Elite from 1.05 $ per day (3 copilots, up to 50 matches, resume tailoring per application). Weekly, monthly and quarterly billing exist, but no prices for them are shown, and no free plan or trial is listed. It targets automated applications at scale.
How to choose: DACH or USA, free or subscription, auto-apply or not
DACH or USA?
For jobs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland you need German-language documents and listings from local employers. Atlas covers 100,000+ DACH jobs and writes in the language of the ad (German CVs with photo are normal, US ones are not). For US roles, Jobright and Simplify have more data and tooling. Public sources matter here too: in the IAB job vacancy survey, online media were decisive for 52 % of successful hires in Germany (IAB-Forum, 1/2026), and the Federal Employment Agency's Jobsuche is a free baseline you should check alongside any AI tool.
Free or subscription?
Work out what you will use in four weeks. If you tailor a CV for 15 roles a week, a free-plan cap of two tailored documents per day (Jobright) or two in total (Huntr) will block you within days, and a 30 to 40 $ monthly plan adds up over a long search. Atlas is the only tool here with no cap on the free plan.
Should a tool apply for you?
Usually not. 67 % of HR leaders in a Robert Half survey say reviewing AI-generated applications slowed their hiring (Robert Half, March 2026). Mass applications also send your data to many employers you never read about. Tools that keep a human in the loop (Atlas, Simplify without Autopilot, Teal, Huntr) are the safer default. In the EU, AI used by employers to screen candidates counts as high-risk under Annex III of the AI Act, which is another reason to keep your own judgement in the process.
Selection criteria: what we checked
- Does it find jobs or only polish documents?
- What is free, and where is the cap? Credits per day, per month, or none.
- Where do the jobs come from? Direct from employers or scraped boards; which regions.
- Who presses "send"? You, or the tool.
- Language and data: German documents, EU hosting, no data sales, deletion on request.
- Evidence: independent reviews versus claims on the vendor's homepage.
We also looked at Jobscan, a resume checker. Its site was behind a bot check when we reviewed it, and it matches a CV to an ad rather than searching for jobs, so it is not in the ranking.
FAQ
What is the best AI tool for job search in 2026?
For finding jobs and tailoring a CV with no cap, Atlas Career. For the US market with daily matches, Jobright. For autofill, Simplify. For tracking, Teal or Huntr.
Is there a free AI job search that really has no limit?
Atlas Career is free without a limit on search, match scores and a tailored CV and cover letter per application. The others cap AI use on their free plans or sell it as a subscription.
Can AI find jobs for me?
Yes. Atlas and Jobright search for you and show new matches daily. Teal and Huntr only organise jobs you found yourself.
Are AI auto-apply tools safe?
They are risky. You lose control over what is sent, employers report more weak applications, and the data goes to many companies. Reviewing every application yourself is the safer approach.
Which tool works best for jobs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland?
Atlas, because 100,000+ of its jobs are in DACH and it writes in the language of the ad. Most US tools focus on English-language roles.
How is this different from tools that write applications?
Writing tools (ChatGPT, resume builders) only help once you have a job. The tools here also help you find one. For the writing side see our AI job search tips and the guide to application trackers.
Does my CV get used to train AI?
Atlas states it does not train third-party models on your data and never sells it. Check the privacy policy of any tool before you upload a CV.
Try it: Atlas Career is free, and your Brief takes a few minutes.
