HeyReach is a LinkedIn outreach tool, not a way to find candidates, so the best alternative depends on what is missing for you. If you need search, profile vetting and outreach in one place, Sprad is the strongest pick for recruiters: every profile is checked individually, LinkedIn and email run in one inbox, and you can start free. If you only need cheaper or safer LinkedIn sequences, Expandi, Waalaxy and La Growth Machine are the closest like-for-like tools. If you want a search-only tool, look at Juicebox or LinkedIn Recruiter Lite (status October 30, 2026).
Why recruiters look for a HeyReach alternative
HeyReach was built for sales agencies that run many LinkedIn accounts at once: it charges per connected sender, $79 per month, or $63 on yearly billing, and lets users and clients join for free. That model fits a team that already owns a clean lead list. Recruiters usually hit the same five limits:
- It does not find or vet candidates. You bring the list, typically from Sales Navigator or LinkedIn Recruiter, so you pay for a second tool and lose time moving lists around.
- Email is not native. Multichannel runs through integrations with separate email tools, so the conversation lives in two inboxes.
- The price scales with senders, not with results. Five recruiters sending from their own profiles are five senders.
- Account risk. LinkedIn's terms do not permit third-party automation software, and LinkedIn states that accounts using it can be restricted. This applies to every tool in this article that sends from LinkedIn, so no vendor removes it; it is a cost you should price in.
- No recruiting context. No shared candidate record, no warning when a colleague already contacted someone for another role.
We have built recruiting software for seven years, from start-ups to large corporations, public clients and insurers. The most common mistake we see when teams switch is not the tool but the list: a perfectly automated sequence sent to the wrong people wastes the sender's reputation and the candidate's goodwill.

The 6 alternatives
1. Sprad: search, vetting and outreach in one tool
Where HeyReach starts with a list, Sprad starts with the role. You describe the person in your own words, and Atlas checks every profile individually against your requirements instead of matching keywords. If results appear instantly, you are almost always looking at a keyword filter; Sprad takes longer on deep searches because far more AI runs per profile. Outreach then runs over LinkedIn and email, including follow-ups and InMails, with trainable AI templates and a pitch format. Every message to a talent sits in one inbox, and the system warns if a colleague already contacted that person. You can also upload your LinkedIn network and search it, which hardly any other tool does. See the people search.
Honest limits: sending is not Sprad's only job, so the pure LinkedIn sending part can cost more than HeyReach (see the calculation below). Automation from your own LinkedIn account carries the same account risk as with any tool.
2. Expandi: closest like-for-like LinkedIn automation
Expandi's pricing page lists configurable daily limits for connections, messages and InMails, profile warm-up and email follow-ups inside sequences. It is the tool to look at if your main worry with HeyReach is account safety and an all-in-one price. It does not remove LinkedIn's rule against automation.
3. Waalaxy: cheapest entry, email only on the top plan
Per its pricing page, Waalaxy also includes email finder credits (25 per month on lower plans, 500 on the top plan). The yearly price per month is not stated on the page, so the figures above are the listed monthly prices.
4. La Growth Machine: more channels in one sequence
5. LinkedIn Recruiter Lite: search without automation
Recruiter Lite is the safe choice if you must stay inside LinkedIn's terms, because the search happens in LinkedIn itself. It does not automate sequences, so many teams still add an outreach tool. More options are in our LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives guide.
6. Juicebox: natural-language search, no sending
More in Juicebox alternatives and, for the whole market, active sourcing with an AI agent.
Which alternative finds more matching candidates?
Only the search tools can be measured, because HeyReach, Expandi, Waalaxy and La Growth Machine do not search for people. The open PeopleSearchBench (Recruiting, published by Lessie AI) scores people-search tools. Recruiting scores: Atlas 73.5, Lessie 68.2, Juicebox 65.7, Exa 64.7, Claude Code 50.5. That puts Atlas first, 5.3 points ahead of second place, with 14.2 of 15 profiles matching on average in a recruiting search. Each result comes with a reason per requirement. Method and details are on our benchmark page.

What does it cost in practice? A worked example
Take five recruiters who each send about 100 LinkedIn requests a week. The assumptions below are ours, not measurements: 430 requests per month, 30 % accepted (129), 20 % of those reply (about 26 conversations per sender per month).
- HeyReach stack: $63 per sender on yearly billing plus a list source. With Sales Navigator at about $90 per month (third-party reports, not verified with LinkedIn) that is about $153 per sender per month, or about $9,200 per year for five, before an email tool.
- Sprad with automation: Recruiter Lite at $95 plus the outreach add-on (2,000 credits, about $216 per month) is about $311 per sender per month; Atlas Recruiter at $359 includes one LinkedIn and mailbox account and unlimited search.
So the sending alone is cheaper at HeyReach. The question is what the list looks like. If a keyword list is only one third relevant, 26 conversations contain about 9 relevant ones, and $153 buys that at about $17 each. For Sprad to match that cost per relevant conversation with the $311 setup, its list must be about twice as relevant as yours. The benchmark's 14.2 of 15 matching profiles (about 95 %) suggests that is possible, but measure it yourself: take 50 profiles from your current list and 50 from a vetted search, and count the matches. At a recruiter hourly cost of about $35 (US median for HR specialists, $72,910 a year, divided by 2,080 hours; BLS, May 2024), every hour spent cleaning a list counts too.
Who should switch from HeyReach, and who should stay?
- Stay with HeyReach if you run 13 or more LinkedIn accounts (the $999 Agency plan beats $79 per sender from the 13th sender) and your lists are already clean.
- Switch to Sprad if you spend more time finding and checking people than sending, if you want LinkedIn and email in one inbox, or if you work in the EU and need hosting and data processing you can document.
- Switch to Expandi or La Growth Machine if you want email and LinkedIn in one sequence and keep your own lists.
- Choose Waalaxy to test cheaply with a small team.
- Choose Recruiter Lite or Juicebox if you want search only and no automation.
Legal checks before you automate outreach (EU and US)
Under Article 14 GDPR you must inform people whose data you did not collect from them, generally within one month; legitimate interest needs a documented balancing test. In Germany, § 7 UWG restricts electronic advertising without consent, so take advice before emailing candidates at scale. The EU AI Act lists AI systems that filter or evaluate candidates as high-risk (Annex III), so keep a human in the decision. In New York City, Local Law 144 requires a bias audit and candidate notice for automated employment decision tools. More in our active sourcing GDPR guide.
