More about Programmatic job advertising platforms
Programmatic job advertising buys job ad placements automatically across job boards and other channels and shifts the budget, in real time, to wherever clicks, applications or hires are cheapest. Most of the platforms below optimise for volume at enterprise scale; only Sprad adds AI pre-qualification and a talent pool you own, which matters most for frontline roles. Prices are as of October 2026 and come from the providers' own pages unless marked otherwise, and most vendors publish none.

What is programmatic job advertising?
Programmatic job advertising uses software to buy and steer job ad placements automatically. Instead of booking a fixed slot on one job board for 30 days, you hand the job and a budget to a platform. It distributes the ad across job boards, search engines and other publishers, watches which placements produce clicks and applications, and moves money to the cheaper ones, usually under a pay-per-click or pay-per-application model.
The approach pays off when you have many open roles, because the algorithm learns from volume. It also has limits that sales pages rarely mention. Programmatic platforms optimise the price of an application, not its quality. Candidates mostly arrive from job boards, so you reach people who are already searching, not the nurse or driver who is not looking right now. And the applicant data typically stays with the platform or publisher until you pass it to your ATS.
Three types appear in search results and the difference matters for your decision. Enterprise programmatic platforms such as Appcast, Joveo, Radancy and Recruitics are built for large ad volumes and sold by quote. Outcome-based networks such as Talroo and VONQ's CPA+ tie the price to a click, an application or a screened applicant. Entry-level services such as JobSpreader offer a fixed monthly price for German mid-sized employers. Social recruiting, like Sprad, is a neighbouring approach that reaches passive candidates on Instagram and Facebook; see our comparison of frontline recruiting by phone and WhatsApp for the screening side.
How we compared: seven criteria
Price model and transparency: published prices, fee versus media spend, minimum budget, minimum term.
Channels: job boards, search engines, social media. Only what is live counts.
Cost logic: pay per click, per application, per screened applicant or per hire.
Pre-qualification: screening by chat, phone or AI interview, or none.
Applicant ownership: do the contacts stay with you after the contract?
Evidence: independent reviews (G2, Capterra, OMR) with sample size, not just vendor claims.
Fit for DACH and the EU: German-language support, GDPR, data processing agreement, server location.

The eight providers in detail
1. Sprad Social Recruiting: ad budget plus 10 %, pre-qualification and a pool you keep
sprad.io

Sprad Social Recruiting
Instagram and Facebook job ads with an AI Talent Agent
Price
Ad budget plus 10 %, from a €1,000 budget, splittable across roles (Sprad, October 2026)
Best for
Frontline and shift roles (nursing, trades, logistics, drivers) where clicks from job boards are not enough and you want pre-qualified applicants plus a talent pool you own.
Limits
Not a classic programmatic network: it does not buy placements on hundreds of job boards. Instagram and Facebook today, Google and TikTok follow. Budget recommendations are guidance, not a guarantee. No published campaign benchmarks yet.
Rating
No reliable independent reviews found

Sprad is the odd one out on this list, and we say so openly: it does not distribute your jobs across job boards like a classic programmatic network. It runs your job ads on Instagram and Facebook, where nurses, tradespeople, drivers and other frontline workers spend time every day, and an AI Talent Agent pre-screens every applicant via WhatsApp, phone or web. Every applicant lands in your own talent pool.
Why first place: programmatic platforms optimise the price of a click or an application, but the people behind those applications are usually not pre-screened and stay with the publisher. Sprad charges your ad budget plus 10 % (from €1,000, spread across several roles), adds the pre-qualification and keeps the contacts with you. The honest caveat: the product is young, there are no public campaign benchmarks yet, and Google and TikTok are announced, not live. If you need reach across hundreds of job boards for white-collar roles, one of the platforms below fits better. Details on the Sprad Social Recruiting page and on the talent pool.
2. Appcast: the brand that popularised the category
appcast.io
Screenshot of appcast.io, captured on 3 October 2026
Appcast
Programmatic job advertising from the US, owned by StepStone
Price
No public price list; on request. One third-party source quotes setup fees of $500 to $5,000 and a minimum ad budget of roughly $200 to $300 (unconfirmed, as of October 2026)
Best for
Larger employers and staffing firms with many open roles that want to steer budget centrally and measure results up to the hire.
Limits
No published prices, no social media focus, no pre-screening by chat or phone as a core feature, US emphasis.
Appcast buys placements on job boards and career networks automatically and adjusts bids using click and application data. According to the provider's website, more than 2,000 clients use it. Since 2019 it has been majority-owned by StepStone, part of Axel Springer, which gives it a European backer.
Reviewers praise faster ad delivery and a better view of the applicant funnel. The samples are modest and mostly American. For a small employer with a handful of roles the set-up and minimum budgets are usually oversized.
3. Joveo: the broadest platform for large ad volumes
joveo.com
Screenshot of joveo.com, captured on 3 October 2026
Joveo
Agentic recruiting platform built on programmatic job advertising
Price
Individual pricing, no fixed plan (provider's FAQ, as of October 2026)
Best for
Enterprises, staffing firms, RPO providers and agencies with large ad volumes that want ad distribution, chatbot and AI interviewing in one platform.
Limits
No published prices, enterprise and US focus, analytics criticised in some reviews.
Rating
G2 4.8/5 (119 reviews)
Joveo distributes jobs automatically across many boards and channels and shifts budget to wherever clicks or applications are cheaper. Around that core it sells career sites, social advertising, a chatbot, an AI interviewer, a talent CRM and scheduling. Named customers include Uber, Just Eat, Honeywell, Adecco and Randstad.
The G2 rating is high with a meaningful sample. The recurring criticism concerns analytics that make it hard to prove return on investment. Joveo lists AI Social Advertising, but programmatic distribution remains the heart of the offer.
4. Radancy: ads, candidate CRM and employer branding in one suite
radancy.com
Screenshot of radancy.com, captured on 3 October 2026
Radancy
Recruitment marketing platform from New York
Price
No public price list; individual quotes. A third-party source cites terms of two to three years as common (unconfirmed, as of October 2026). Media budget comes on top
Best for
Large, often international employers that want ads, candidate CRM and employer branding from one provider.
Limits
No published prices, long terms reported, built for large enterprises, no social media focus.
Rating
G2 4.6/5
Radancy grew out of TMP Worldwide's recruitment advertising arm. It bundles programmatic job ads, a candidate CRM and employer branding services, and it claims more than 675 global employers on its start page. Reviewers value support and ease of use.
The price of a full suite is dependence on one provider and a longer roll-out. Ask in the quote how platform fee, service fee and media budget are split, how long the term is and who owns the talent pool data when the contract ends.
5. Recruitics: an early programmatic specialist with agency services
Recruitics
Programmatic job advertising and recruitment marketing from New York
Price
No public price list; individual quotes without published tiers. Media budget comes on top (review and database portals, as of October 2026)
Best for
Large employers with high, steady hiring volume that run recruitment marketing centrally and want consulting plus managed campaigns.
Limits
No published prices, no visible social media focus, very few public reviews, enterprise target group.
Rating
G2 5.0/5, but only about 10 reviews
Recruitics describes itself as a pioneer of programmatic job optimisation and has been on the market since 2012. According to the provider's website, more than 400 enterprise organisations in over 100 countries use it. It combines software with consulting, media planning and creative services.
That combination helps teams without programmatic experience but makes comparison harder, because platform fee, service fee and media budget are negotiated separately. The perfect G2 score rests on about ten reviews, so it says little.
6. Talroo: pay per click or application for frontline hiring
talroo.com
Screenshot of talroo.com, captured on 3 October 2026
Talroo
Performance-based job ads for hourly and frontline roles (USA)
Price
No price list; billed per click or per application, agreed individually (provider's website, as of October 2026)
Best for
US employers with many similar frontline vacancies in retail, food service, healthcare, logistics and manufacturing.
Limits
No published prices, clearly US-centred, no German-language offer, no classic social media campaigns.
Rating
G2 4.5/5 (42 reviews)

Talroo started as the job aggregator Jobs2Careers and now runs a job discovery network for hourly and skilled-trade roles. You set a budget and pay for results, not impressions. SmartQualify adds AI-based qualification of applicants, with a variant for healthcare roles.
Named customers include FedEx, Uber, Target and UPS. A company hiring in Germany will find little here: the network, the customers and the ATS integrations are US-centred.
7. VONQ: distribution plus outcome-based pricing
vonq.com
Screenshot of vonq.com, captured on 3 October 2026
VONQ
Talent attraction platform from the Netherlands
Price
No public price list. Recruit+ is a modular software subscription, CPA+ charges a fixed price per AI-screened applicant; one aggregator estimates CPA+ campaigns from about 460 (€, £ or $) (provider's website and third-party source, as of October 2026)
Best for
European enterprises and staffing agencies that want multiposting, programmatic advertising and AI screening with an ATS handover.
Limits
No published prices, only a few public reviews, built for enterprises.
Rating
Capterra and TrustRadius listings; very small review samples

✓
VONQ's EQO platform covers writing job descriptions, distribution through multiposting and programmatic advertising, social creative, AI screening, structured AI interviews and candidate scoring. According to the provider, jobs go out across more than 5,000 channels and the platform integrates with 85+ ATS. It states GDPR compliance and ISO 27001 certification.
The interesting part is CPA+: you pay a fixed price per AI-screened applicant instead of per click, so the cost follows the result. Ask what exactly counts as screened and who owns the applicant data afterwards.
8. JobSpreader: a German entry price for programmatic
JobSpreader (Wollmilchsau)
Programmatic job advertising network for the German market
Price
Performance Pur from €333 per month; Enterprise 360 on request (OMR Reviews listing, as of October 2026)
Best for
German small and mid-sized employers that want a clear monthly price, a set reach per job and little set-up.
Limits
No independent reviews found (OMR lists none), reach is concentrated on job boards, no social media or pre-screening focus.
Rating
No reliable independent reviews found
German
✓
JobSpreader by the agency Wollmilchsau posts your job once on your career page and delivers an agreed number of hits at a defined budget, instead of multiposting or agency placements. The Enterprise 360 tier adds passive candidate targeting, labour market data and salary benchmarks.
A published monthly entry price is rare in this category, which makes it a useful reference point for mid-sized employers. Verify the reach per job and ask for references, because we found no independent review sample.

DACH and EU checks before you sign
GDPR and data processing agreement. The provider processes applicant data on your behalf, so you need a data processing agreement. Many US platforms host data outside the EU. Ask where the servers are, how long applicants are stored and how deletion works. Only some providers state an EU location or certification publicly.
Meta's job ad category. If a provider also runs ads on Instagram or Facebook, Meta classifies job ads as a special ad category called Employment. In the US and Canada this restricts targeting by age, gender and ZIP code; the exact scope for the EU changes over time, so check Meta's current help pages before you plan targeting. In Germany the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) applies to job ads as well, so wording and targeting must not discriminate.
Tracking and consent on your career site. Programmatic platforms measure clicks and applications with pixels and scripts on your career page. In the EU this needs valid consent in your cookie banner. Ask which scripts the provider adds.
AI screening and the EU AI Act. Systems that screen or rank applicants count as high-risk applications under the EU AI Act. Ask providers how a human stays in the decision and how they document it. For contacting candidates over messaging apps, see our guide on contacting candidates via WhatsApp.
Applicant ownership after the contract. The most overlooked point. Ask in writing whether you can export every applicant and keep contacting people who agreed to it. A pool that belongs to the platform ends with your contract.
Checklist before you decide
Is the total price clear: platform fee, service fee, media spend, minimum budget, minimum term?
Do you pay per click, per application, per screened applicant or per hire?
Which channels are live today, and which are job boards versus social media?
How is an applicant pre-screened, and who sees the answers?
Do applicants stay in your pool, and can you export them?
Is there a data processing agreement, an EU server location and a consent concept for tracking?
Are there independent reviews with a sample size, and references from your industry and country?
How do you leave: notice period, data export, deletion?
FAQ
What does programmatic job advertising cost?
Most enterprise platforms publish no prices and sell by quote; a third-party source mentions setup fees of $500 to $5,000 for Appcast. The ad budget itself usually comes on top. A published entry point in Germany is JobSpreader's Performance Pur from €333 per month. Sprad charges your ad budget plus 10 %, from €1,000, for social ads with pre-qualification. Prices as of October 2026.
What is the difference between programmatic job advertising and social recruiting?
Programmatic job advertising places your jobs mainly on job boards and search engines and optimises the price per click or application. Social recruiting runs ads on Instagram and Facebook to reach people who are not actively searching. Programmatic suits many roles and active job seekers; social recruiting suits frontline roles with passive candidates.
Is programmatic job advertising worth it for small employers?
Rarely at enterprise scale. Setup, minimum budgets and contracts are built for many open roles. A fixed monthly entry offer or a budget-plus-fee model with a few roles is usually the better test. Start small and measure the cost per qualified applicant, not per click.
Which programmatic platform is best for frontline roles?
Talroo is built for hourly roles but is US-centred. In DACH, a model that adds pre-screening matters more than click price: that is where Sprad's social ads with an AI Talent Agent fit. For large volumes across job boards, Appcast and Joveo are the established names.
Who owns the applicant data?
That differs and is often unclear on vendor pages. Programmatic applications typically start on a job board or career page and reach your ATS. At Sprad every applicant lands in the employer's own talent pool. Ask every vendor for a written answer on export and deletion.
